I'm
back at home in Fairbanks after my quick trip to New Mexico. I got a
lot of work done on the helicopter and came home to my Alaska just as
real winter was setting in. I hit the ground running.
The
night Brian picked me up at the airport was -25*F. It has been down
to -35 since I made it home and we have no end in sight. Real winter
(which we have not had for several years) is here. Time to get the
snow machines out!
I've
got an update on Whitey for you. He is home in Clovis and has become
(at least temporarily) a part of Sarah's pack. If you remember, I
was asking her about local no kill shelters and she would have none
of it. She is going to find this guy his new home if she hasn't
already. She has two other canines that he has gotten along great
with. You might say he's turning into The Leader of the Pack.
She
had found him a home just after Thanksgiving, but (fortunately) the
family backed out before they took him. Better to back out before
the guy is moved. This little guy has feelings and emotions just
like we do. There is nothing scarier than to be moved around from
place to place and not knowing if you are staying or leaving to new
humans all over again.
Whitey
is going to be okay. He's a good dog with a personality. Who knows,
I might even see him again!
