My
Day at the Bizarre...I mean Bazaar
Today
was it. Bazaar day. Meet the public day for me. After a solid week
of cramming small project after project to completion by Kitty and
myself, I went out to sell my stuff. I guess that makes us
entrepreneurs now.
After
getting about three hours of sleep last night, I was up at 0 dark
thirty to do final checks, gatherings, and figure out everything I
would later forget anyway. I got all loaded to the truck except for
(there's always an except with me) the really cool sundial birdbath
that I knocked over and chipped after Kitty had put so much work into
it. The story of my life. If it can be broke, I will break it.
Of
course I forgot all kinds of stuff. The laptop I took didn't mate up
to my camera, so I couldn't blog live with pictures from my big
adventure. I made it though.
I
had lots of stuff on my table. Handmade recycled products straight
from Kitty's mind. You have to figure it out...she can think it up.
I thought it was organized, but from an autistic point of view. I'm
sure now it looked like a cluster from the customer point of view.
That will be straightened out before next weekend. Yep, I'm doing it
again. ***Update...I just looked at the picture you are looking at
and my table looked like a jumbled up mess. That can be fixed!
I
took vintage items, Arctic Artique art pieces, teas, candles,
incense...all kinds of stuff. As this was the first bazaar day of
the year, they were everywhere. It was really slow in the hall. I
didn't get skunked though. I made two sales my first time out into
this new life of mine.
I
only had a couple times where I experienced my autistic traits. I
had to walk outside once as I started hearing every conversation from
every direction at once and started to get a bit overwhelmed. Being
under the fluorescent lights all day finally got to my eyes. They
still hurt a bit. These were just a very small downside to what was
an otherwise very good day. I will do it again.
A
quick word to all of my spectrum brothers and sisters out there.
Don't let anybody tell you that you can't do what you put your mind
to. If you work at it, it will happen and you will like it! I
should know...I'm the most resistant to change type of person I know.
Sorry
about not having many pictures today. Things just didn't work out as planned. Just wait till next week!
