Hi there, I’m finally back again.  I know…it’s been awhile.  I haven’t abandoned my blog, things have changed since my last post.  My helicopter and I are no longer in Alaska.  Fire season there is over and it was a bust, which is a good thing.

I have been on the move for several weeks running between Oregon, Washington, and Idaho.  We were shipped stateside as the fire season here is just heating up.  Since arriving here, I have worked in Bend Oregon, Wenatchee Washington, Pomeroy Oregon, a quick stint in Boise Idaho, and now I’m in Burns Oregon.  How ironic !

Where we hardly flew in Alaska, we are now flying nearly every day here and I can see why.  The wind is blowing, we are in grass and sagebrush territory, and it is dry here.  I forgot to mention that it is HOT!  I am an Alaska boy now.  These near 100 degree temperatures are tearing me up.  Believe it or not, I would give just about anything for a -20 degree day about now.

I spend my days chasing the helicopter around to where it is needed, then sit and wait until we are finished for the day.  We find shade anywhere we can.  I guess they call the areas I am working in the high desert.  I have seen some really cool stuff here, from the Columbia River to the Cascade Mountains to the sagebrush I am now looking at while writing.

I just have a bit of time, so I will close for now and post a few pictures for you to peruse.  Its interesting work but I will be ready to head home just as soon as I can.  Snow will be there soon.

Sorry I haven’t posted more often but I went from complete boredom to being on the go all the time.  Internet has also been scarce.

Just to let you know, while I have been away, Kitty has been playing.  She is setting everything up for us to go like gangbusters with Arctic Artique the second I get home.  Art projects, Ebay store, woodworking, buy, sell, trade, and so much more.

Thank you for stopping in.  I hope you enjoy.  See you again as soon as I can.
