Hi
everyone from Clovis, New Mexico. I know
it’s been several days since my last post.
Things have been very hectic for Kitty and I. First, I am in Clovis meeting, getting to
know, and letting my new employer get to know me! Aerotech LLC is an aviation company that
operates not only helicopters, but airplanes also. Airtractors, cargo, small biz jet…they’ve got
it. Seems to be a good and busy
company. I’ve been pretty impressed so
far! This company hired me to take care
of maintenance this summer on a Bell 407 helicopter during Alaska’s upcoming
fire season. It looks like it could be a
busy and bad season for us. No snow this
winter and everywhere is dry. We’ll make
it through though. The helicopter, my
pilot, and myself will be working out of Galena, Alaska although we could be
sent all over the state. You just never
know what will happen. About my pilot…she,
yes I said she, is young. I have worked
with her before. While at Bristow in
Fairbanks she hired on as a mechanic, fresh out of school. She was turning into a good wrench…let’s see
how she handles the machine from the operating standpoint. I have full confidence in her.
Miss
Kitty is minding the store back in Fairbanks while I’m away. Since my last post we had something remarkable happen. If you remember, we showed an art sculpture we
titled ‘Eternal Patriot’. This beautiful
piece had an enquiry to be bought for Mrs. Jeanette Finicum in honor of her
late husband. We felt this the only
fitting place for ‘Patriot’ to end up.
An online donation drive has been started (didn’t know I would be
learning how to do that!) and when we reach our goal, we will ship to Las Vegas
to a very good friend of hers who will in turn drive her package to Colorado to
present to her.
My
apologies that I have no pictures tonight.
I am on our backup laptop which does not take SD cards. I will have some soon, I just have to get
permission to use a work laptop to transfer my card pictures over to a thumb
drive to load into this laptop. Yep, lot’s
of monkey motion! That’s okay though, I’ve
learned to Adapt, Improvise, and Overcome over the years.
