It's
summer. I'm back in camp. My helicopter is running smooth. We
finally got heat in the barracks. Life is good.
Lot's
of things have happened since I was here last. I'm no longer on
Facebook. It was time for me to Dump Zuck. This is where the
majority of my readers came from. This will now be like starting
from scratch again. I hope somebody see's it!
To
begin, let me re-introduce myself. I'm Scott, good to meet ya. I'm
50 something years old, enjoyed a 30 year career in helicopter
maintenance. I'm closing in on the end of that career and learning
how to survive post professional career.
I'm
also autistic. I was never diagnosed as a kid, I was just an odd
duck. Always wanted to be part of the crowd but had a very
anti-social personality. I never quite fit in.
I
served in the US Navy. I am a veteran and a member of the VFW. I
served on America's Flagship, the USS Constellation. Connie was the
first carrier on station in the Gulf of Oman well before the towers
fell. One of our Tomcat's fired the first US missile in the gulf
region. We have been in the Middle East for a very long time and
Connie is being turned into razor blades.
I'm
married to Miss Kitty, the last Alaska Bush Baby. She lived remote.
Her school was cardboard box, Cessna dropped. She lived with the
wolves. She had a moose for a pet.
Miss
Kitty is the reason I know I am autistic. She had experience with
her own son growing up. She is the one to show me who and what I
actually am. She is the one that put up with every screw up,
tantrum, and failure to figure out life moments during the last five
years. My job went away. All of a sudden, after a lifetime of
working, I found myself unemployable. Age and a bad economy don't
mix well. She's the one that guided me through all of it. She's the
one that paid for it. We survived because of her. I know who and
what I am because of Miss Kitty. I'm a better person because of my
wife.
If
you hadn't noticed, I like to take pictures. I think I'm starting to
get good at it. I enjoy being able to capture unique visions through
the lens. Today features breakup on the Yukon River at Galena,
Alaska. I hope you enjoy.
That's
all I've got for today. Thanks for dropping in. If you like my
stuff, make sure to follow me. See ya next time!
