After
a couple of days to think about it while working through a string of
-30*F days and nights, Kitty and I have decided enough is enough.
There is one more holiday bazaar but we won't be attending. We put a
ton of work into the first three. They were a good experience for me
but there was no return on our investment. There was some traffic
this past weekend, but no interested parties. I think we lost money
this last time around. Kitty baked her tail off.
I'm
not really sure of what people were looking for. There weren't many
happy faces walking through. I sold a few banana bread loaves and a
couple of cookie cakes but that was it. We don't have it in us to go
through another week of cramming for something that isn't working.
It wasn't just us, there were very few vendors that sold anything.
Times are tight. People have gotten to the point now that they would
rather go to wally world to buy junk that comes apart after a week
than to support local artisans, buying quality and unique items that
you can't get at a box store. It's a shame.
We
are back in to eBay now, making one last push before Christmas.
Beautiful is the word that comes to mind when I look at the items we
are listing. See the quality and craftsmanship in the old world
items you can no longer find. Elegant and refined are the words of
the day.
All
of todays pictures are from our current auction. Take a look and
enjoy. After you finish looking at these, take a look around you at
the things you buy from the box stores that the marketing agencies
tell you that you have to have. That was a mouthful...try typing it
in one breath!
Kitty
believes in these things. I do to. I don't care for what I see mass
produced today.
You
don't have to buy anything. You don't even have to bid. I do ask
you to take a look at our eBay sales page, Shangri-lah-di-da to see
what I am talking about. You might enjoy it.
Although
they have not been properly Artiqued, these items all fit into the
recycle, repurpose, reuse category. They have and continue to stand
the test of time!
