Bush
Baby
Kitty
is the last of a dying breed. She is a true Alaska Bush Baby. For
those of you not familiar with Alaska, a bush baby is someone who was
raised remote in the wilds of Alaska. I know you are thinking of the
bush family showcased on one of the cable networks. She is that and
so much more. I don't know if they are real or not. My wife is the
real deal.
Wolf
and specifically white wolf is her animal sign. She has had wolf
follow her for her entire life. When she was two, way down on the
Chatanika River, where she was raised, her dad came across a wolf
that had one of his paws injured. Got caught in some trappers line
more than likely. He patched up the wolf as best he could, wrapped
it's paw and gave it some jerky that was in his pack. Then he sent
this wolf away. Didn't think any more about it. He figured he did
what he could and the canine would either survive or not but he gave
it a chance.
Anyway,
this particular wolf hung around and started showing up in the field
where Kitty played. Whenever he saw it, he would run and grab her to
keep it from her. It was for her protection. One day the wolf was
out in the field and this little bush baby toddled out into the field
and walked right up to it. This beautiful old wolf gave her a lick
and they commenced to playing with each other. If this was to happen
today, any child would be taken from their parent and the parent
would be locked up. It is a completely different world now.
This
wolf became a constant companion to her. Wolf has been with her
throughout her life. Oni, the world's best service dog was wolf.
Three quarter Siberian Husky and one quarter wild wolf. He was the
most intelligent and gentlest animal I have ever seen. Unless she
was in danger. Wolf is her sign and wolf is her life.
There
are many more stories of Miss Kittie's life to get out, but this is a
very short start. Stay tuned. While we are taking care of
everything else, I will try and post more stories about the life of
my wife as they come.
