Did
you know there are statistics that show the Monarch butterfly to be
extinct in just a couple of very short years. The loss of their
migratory fly way due to progress is said to play a very large role
in this loss. This beautiful vintage trunk, which was saved from
eternity in a landfill, was removed from a dumpster in Fairbanks,
Alaska. It had seen life for 70 years before being discarded, only
to receive it's butterfly-like metamorphosis. Mrs. Thompson's unique
style and vision dictated that this old trunk become a tribute to the
soon to be gone Monarch in the only way she could. With beauty and
elegance. To look at this one of a kind work of art is to step back
in time, a time not so long ago when elegance reigned supreme. The
vibrant colors of the butterflies, mixed with the ornate shelf add a
look not seen in 100 years. Please, take that step back in time for
just a minute, and think about what life will be like without seeing
this butterfly again.
