Hi
and welcome back! It's been a while since my last post. No, I
didn't quit this blog. Current circumstances have kept me just a bit
internet challenged for a couple of months. When last I posted, I
was staying in a work camp on the North Slope of Alaska. My wife and
I have a roof over head again, but not without minor difficulties to
work out. Where we are living is in a hole backed up to some hills.
We have no cell reception so once again we have a land line! We have
no television reception or cable tv. That's not a big deal, I have
become tired or watching tv for years. We also have had no internet
service even though the phone company has a telephone cable pedestal
in our back yard. Come to find out they have to modify and upgrade
that pedestal to give us DSL. That could take years to happen. What
we were finally able to do was to have Hughes-Net installed. Yes,
this is satellite internet. It is supposed to be high speed but we
are not much faster than dial up, but that's okay. Wd are at least
connected again! Ebay and Craigslist look out!!!!! I still haven't
found work, so my wife and I have taken a different route. She is
creating her art and I am refurbishing old furniture for resale. It
looks like a business has been born. Things are still tight but we
see amazing potential with this venture. I have to go for now but
expect to see more from me in the future as I document my life after
helicopters and we move forward with our venture. I really do enjoy
life now! Thanks for reading. I hope to make more regular
appearances here as I learn to make this a quazi-professional site.
Sit back, watch, read and enjoy!
Scott
